Starting therapy - especially during infertility or IVF - can come with a lot of questions. Here are some of the most common things people ask before getting started.

That’s a very common question—especially for people going through infertility or IVF, who are used to pushing through and managing a lot on their own.
You might consider therapy if you’re feeling overwhelmed by the process, struggling with anxiety during cycles or the two-week wait, grieving failed transfers or pregnancy loss, or finding that infertility is affecting your relationships or daily life in ways that are hard to manage.
Some people reach out in the middle of treatment, while others come when they’re trying to decide next steps or adjusting to life after infertility or into parenthood.
You don’t have to be in crisis for therapy to be helpful. Sometimes it’s simply about having a space where you don’t have to filter what you’re going through—and where someone understands both the emotional and practical realities of this experience.
If you’re unsure, we can start with a brief consultation and see if it feels like a good fit.
Yes. IVF and infertility can be some of the most emotionally intense experiences people go through. The constant uncertainty, waiting, and repeated cycles can take a significant toll.
Many people also feel unexpectedly isolated during this time - whether because others don’t fully understand, it’s hard to talk about openly, or it feels like everyone else is moving forward more easily.
Many of the people I work with are functioning in their daily lives while quietly feeling anxious, depleted, or overwhelmed. You are not alone in that.
Therapy can provide a space where you don’t have to carry that alone - where you can talk openly about what you’re going through and feel understood and supported, from infertility treatment through early parenthood.
Not at all. Many of my clients are going through IVF, but I also work with individuals and couples navigating infertility more broadly, as well as those experiencing miscarriage, pregnancy loss, anxiety during pregnancy, postpartum depression, and the transition into parenthood.
I work with both. Some people prefer individual support, while others find it helpful to come as a couple, especially when navigating decisions or relationship strain during infertility..
Yes. All sessions are conducted via telehealth, which allows you to access support from home. This can be especially helpful during the demands of fertility treatment as well as during the early stages of parenthood.
This varies. Some people are looking for short-term support during a specific phase of IVF, while others benefit from longer-term support throughout their journey.
Many clients continue therapy after having a baby, as parenting after infertility can come with its own unique challenges.
My fee is $200 for a 50-minute session and $110 for a 30-minute session.
I aim to provide a thoughtful, individualized, and responsive level of care, particularly given the emotional intensity and time-sensitive nature of infertility and IVF and do my best to be available for check-in calls and other support between sessions.
I am an out-of-network provider, which allows me to offer a more individualized and flexible approach to care. I aim to be accessible and supportive between sessions when needed - for example, brief check-ins or coordination during particularly stressful moments in treatment. and do my best to offer flexibility in schedule.
I can provide documentation for possible out-of-network reimbursement depending on your plan.
I generally ask for at least 24 hours’ notice for cancellations or rescheduling.
That said, I understand that infertility, fertility treatment, and parenting can involve last-minute changes. I do my best to approach these situations with flexibility and understanding whenever possible.
If something unexpected comes up, please reach out and we can work together to find a solution.
